The legendary Johnny Polley runs the Polley Wash with help from his daughter, Kayla Polley. Kayla, still living in the shadow of her father’s accomplishments, struggles to establish her identity around town; locals don’t even remember her name. With encouragement from Summer & Finn, a millennial nomad couple, Kayla demands her father let her wash cars, resulting in a tragicomic mishap that forces Johnny into early retirement.
Now tasked to run the Polley Wash on her own, Kayla finds far more independence than she asked for. She must succeed in the Great Trial of Molasses to retain the heritage status of the Polley Wash. If she fails, Saint John’s prohibition on automated car washes will be lifted. This is music to the ears of the rich and insecure villain, Mister Dulse, who hopes to finally fulfill his dream of doing what his father never could, opening his own automated car wash, The Royal Rinse, and in the process, declaring a Second Saint John Car Wash War!
